“The world exists only because of the innocent breath of schoolchildren.” (Talmud, Shabbat)
Kindergartens are the kernel of Jewish community life. With their high level of parental involvement, they are one of the most effective ways to bring Jewish families together. So, when the community decides there is a need for Jewish day schools, they usually start with an all-day kindergarten.
Ours are founded on the highest educational standards. Teachers are trained in Western methods that emphasize pre-reading and math skills, arts and crafts, and physical education. There is also a strong emphasis on Jewish songs, tradition and holidays. The children gather in light, airy classrooms with individual cubbies for their coats and other belongings; and two nutritious meals a day ensure healthy development.
All of this is free of charge – the Or Avner Foundation underwrites the operational and maintenance expenses for most of the 54 kindergartens; and the Pincus Foundation supports the first three years of many of our Ukrainian kindergartens.
