EnerJew Launches Innovative Bot to Strengthen Jewish Engagement Among FSU Teens

EnerJew, the FSU Jewish youth movement, has introduced a new digital outreach tool designed to deepen Jewish engagement among thousands of teenagers across the region. Through an advanced interactive bot system, the organization is creating new ways for young Jews to connect with their heritage, traditions, and values—reaching even those in remote communities.

The initiative marks the first time EnerJew has implemented a personal bot format within its programming. Through the platform, each participant can access content directly from their phone, learn practical aspects of Jewish life, and actively track their participation in various challenges and activities.

The first pilot stage of the program focused on strengthening awareness of everyday Jewish practices. Under the popular theme “Thank You Hashem,” teens learned how to recite the appropriate blessings before and after different foods. The bot allowed participants to see which blessing applies to each food, mark when they had recited it, and turn the learning experience into an engaging and interactive activity.

“The goal was simple,” explained Mrs. Malky Pewzner Director of the EnerJew content development team and developer of the bot. “We wanted to instill in our youth a sense of gratitude—to help them recognize everything they have, view life positively, and thank the Almighty for the special bond He has with us.”

Beyond the educational component, the bot also delivered engaging videos, reminders, and other interactive content throughout the campaign. This created a dynamic and uplifting experience for participants while strengthening their connection to Jewish traditions.

According to organizers, the response exceeded expectations. Participation levels nearly doubled compared to previous initiatives, and the campaign generated noticeable enthusiasm among the teens. Special photos and videos were also produced as part of the project to support the development of this new digital format.

Encouraged by the success of the pilot program, EnerJew leadership decided to expand the initiative ahead of the upcoming Purim holiday. The bot was adapted to guide teens through the mitzvot and customs of the festive holiday, offering explanations, reminders, and original themed content designed especially for the occasion.

The Purim campaign ran under the lively title “Circus Energy,” presenting the holiday in an exciting and creative way that helped build anticipation and bring the festive spirit to thousands of participants.

This time, the incentive structure was also adjusted. Instead of individual prizes, the award was given to the club with the highest percentage of participation among its members. The winning club earned the opportunity to host a special group activity—further strengthening the sense of community that EnerJew aims to cultivate among Jewish youth throughout the FSU.
