FSU Jewry Gathers to Honor the 30th Anniversary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe

Hundreds of special events and Chassidic gatherings are currently taking place across the vast lands of the former Soviet Union in honor of the 30th anniversary of the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1994. The Rebbe had a profound and lasting impact on Russian Jewry and was instrumental in the revival of Judaism after the fall of the Iron Curtain.

Organized by Jewish communities, rabbis, and Chabad emissaries in both major cities and small towns and villages across Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and other FSU countries, these events focus on strengthening the unique bond of post-Soviet Jewry with the Rebbe’s teachings and his empowering call for every Jew to embrace their inner connection to Judaism.

The events will feature renowned lecturers, unique concerts, inspiring Chassidic gatherings, prayers, and additional initiatives commemorating this historic anniversary. Beginning more than a week ahead of the Yartzeit on Gimmel Tamuz and continuing until the end of the week, thousands are expected to attend and express their personal connection to the Rebbe and his leadership.
