SmartJ, FJC’s exemplary educational enhancement network, has taken its ongoing activity to the next stage – establishing a new Jewish summer camp experience for thousands of children across the former Soviet Union. With over 60 branches in eight FSU countries, JSummer is giving more than 2,000 Jewish children an experience to remember for life.
Since the fall of the Iron Curtain and the establishment of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS (FJC), summer camps have become one of the most important ways to strengthen and enhance a sense of belonging and Jewish pride among FSU’s Jewish children.
Tens of thousands of children have been empowered through the FJC’s Jewish summer programs in the last three decades, after enjoying a positive summer experience combining lots of fun, amusement, and Jewish heritage and values.
This summer, following the growing popularity of FJC’s ‘SmartJ’ informal educational network, the summer camps have been rebranded as JSummer UNIVERSAL and upgraded to a completely new and stimulating level.
JSummer – serving Jewish children from age 5 to 16 – offers its campers a close-to-home holistic summer camp bonanza, developed by a team of leading experts – making the time at camp unforgettable. The children enjoy interactive adventures, original social games focused on team-building and problem-solving, exciting contests and competitions, singing and dancing – and, of course, sports, swimming, trips, attractions, workshops, and attractive performances.
The camps’ hand-picked devoted staff, consisting of leading EnerJew counselors, aim to reveal the children’s inner potential, help them to enhance their creativity, and develop their social and leadership skills. JSummer offers an all-day program, three nutritious kosher meals a day, and a unique Jewish values learning program. JSummer is also a beautiful opportunity for children to make new friends and acquaintances.
