The Jewish Community of Perm, headed by Rabbi Zalmen and Sara Deutch, has excitedly announced that an official permit for construction of a new state-of-the-art Jewish Community Center in the center of Perm, has been issued by the local architecture and urban planning department.
Following the announcement, the community plans to begin preparing the allocated plot of land in the near future and hopes to complete the entire project within two years.
The finance for the new JCC will be provided by the leadership of the Jewish communities of Russia, along with philanthropists, additional organizations interested in contributing to the revival of Russian Jewry, and the general public.
The city of Perm is the largest city in the Perm Krai Federal district of Russia, located on the western slopes of the Middle Ural Mountains. The new JCC is planned to serve the thousands of Jews living across the city, and enable the development of their thriving community.
