As part of the recent historical YAHAD journey to Brazil, which brought together 900 Jewish students from Russia and the FSU, participants took part in a special event dedicated to finding one’s life mission, purpose, and ambitions, and to the revival of Jewish life after decades of Soviet repression.

One of the central moments of the program was the screening of The Embers — a special tribute film honoring Mr. Eli Horn and the historic revival of Russian Jewry. The film made a strong impact on the students, helping them better understand their own life stories and the struggle to preserve Jewish identity.

Produced by Rivkin Media, The Embers tells the story of how, after seventy years of communist suppression, many believed that Jewish life in the former Soviet Union had nearly disappeared. The film highlights how Mr. Eli Horn saw hope where others saw only ashes and became one of the figures who helped strengthen a new era of Jewish renewal across the region.
