Russian Women’s Clubs Celebrate International Women’s Day the Jewish Way

In honor of the upcoming International Women’s Day, women’s clubs from the Russian cities of Oryol, Bryansk, Tula, and Kursk got together for an evening themed ‘Together We Can’.

More than 80 women attended the event. They enjoyed informative and interesting speakers who addressed the role of modern women in Judaism. Thought provoking discussions centered around the history of women in Judaism, how women’s roles have evolved throughout Jewish history, and how women can uniquely influence and affect the world.  The attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet and concluded the evening with Israeli dancing.

In Rostov, the local Jewish women’s club celebrated a similar event themed ‘Jewish Wonder Woman’.

The atmosphere at both events was electric and filled with a feeling of togetherness and connection. The women who attended left energized, inspired and motivated.

“I believe that women need to connect to one another,” said one participant, “the event rejuvenated me and has renewed my feeling of pride in being a Jewish woman.”
