LifeChanger FSU teenagers enjoy an uplifting Shabbat experience with EnerJew

Hundreds of Jewish teenagers involved in EnerJew’s youth movement gathered in the city Hadiatch, Ukraine, for a fun and uplifting Shabbat experience. They were joined by some of LifeChanger FSU’s teenagers which arrived from troubled homes across the country, and together they spent a weekend Shabbaton in a warm and welcoming environment. LifeChanger FSU is a holistic humanitarian service organization supported by the FJC that helps rescue children from poverty, abuse and neglect and gives them a chance at a wholesome and healthy life.

The EnerJew Jewish youth movement gives teens a chance to connect with other Jewish teens and learn about their traditions in a stimulating and creative way. Through meaningful experiences, fun trips, and interesting programming EnerJew brings Judaism to life for these teens, many of whom have never learned about their history and traditions. EnerJew club is dedicated to giving teens a social connection and motivating and inspirational experiences which help foster Jewish pride within its participants.

The Shabbat experience is one of the programs that EnerJew has for the teens. EnerJew club members spent the Shabbat enjoying interesting and enjoyable programs, making friends from all over the Ukraine, partaking of delicious Shabbat meals, singing songs and experiencing a traditional Shabbat in a wonderful environment.

“I had a great time at the Shabbat experience,” shared one of the participants, “I can’t wait to get together with my new friends again this summer in the EnerJew summer camp.”
