From December 7 to 14, 2025, Moscow hosted the 10th Moscow Jewish Film Festival (MJFF)—a vibrant celebration of Jewish stories, culture, and artistic expression on the big screen. The anniversary edition brought together cinema lovers, creators, and cultural leaders for a week long program showcasing the best of contemporary Jewish film from around the world.

The festival featured more than 50 films and series from 14 countries, spanning genres from historical drama and comedy to musical odyssey and documentary exploration. Screenings took place across five prominent cultural venues in the city, including the Oktyabr Cinema Center, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, and the Moscow Jewish Community Center.

The program opened on December 7 with the Russian premiere of the series The Zweiflers, setting a dynamic tone for the week ahead, and included works that invited audiences to reflect on memory, identity, family, and resilience. On and off the screens, viewers also engaged with thematic discussions, master classes, and roundtables, deepening the festival’s impact as both a cultural and educational forum.

A highlight of the festival was the presentation of the Honorary Decade Award, recognizing long standing contribution to Jewish cinema, followed by the festive Closing Ceremony on December 14. At the closing event, awards were announced for outstanding films and Passport by Georgiy Daneliya—a comedy parable exploring questions of identity and belonging—was screened to conclude the anniversary edition.

Throughout its ten year history, MJFF has grown into one of the region’s most significant cultural events, promoting dialogue through film and spotlighting Jewish narratives from diverse communities around the world.
