In a significant outreach effort, the Jewish community in Russia is witnessing a remarkable initiative by the 770 Fund, an organization dedicated to supporting rabbis and Chabad emissaries throughout the country. The project aims to strengthen Jewish identity and religious practice by providing essential ritual items to Jewish communities across Russia.

The ambitious project involves distributing 100 pairs of high-quality tefillin, carefully packaged in prestigious cases, and 2,000 mezuzot to be personally placed by rabbis in the homes of Jewish families. This initiative goes beyond mere distribution, focusing on encouraging daily religious observance and deepening Jewish connection.

Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia, personally visited the 770 Fund offices to review the detailed project plans. During his visit, he met with the organization’s founder and chairman, Rabbi Yehuda Davidov, discussing the specific communities that will benefit from this extensive program.

More than just a charitable act, this initiative represents a broader commitment to Jewish continuity in Russia. 770 Fund has been working tirelessly to support Jewish institutions, educational frameworks, and community infrastructure. Their efforts include building mikvaot (ritual baths), printing and distributing Jewish and Chassidic literature for all ages, and providing critical support to local Jewish centers.
