EnerJew, the Federation of Jewish Communities vibrant Jewish youth movement operating across the Former Soviet Union, recently celebrated the completion of its inaugural Madrichim (counselors) Training School. This initiative, aims to equip chosen Jewish teenagers aged 15 to 18, with the skills and knowledge to lead Jewish youth clubs and community activities effectively.

The graduation seminar took place from February 26 to March 2, 2025, bringing together 44 enthusiastic teenagers from various cities across Russia and Belarus, including Moscow, Minsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and many others. The program’s curriculum encompassed skills such as group dynamics, leadership development, Jewish traditions, and event planning, providing attendees with a comprehensive toolkit for community engagement.

Throughout the winter, participants engaged in online training sessions, following an opening spring seminar that marked the opening of their training. This structured approach ensures continuous development and readiness to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

EnerJew, generously supported by the Finger family foundation, has been instrumental in transforming Jewish youth across the FSU from passive observers to active community members since its establishment in 2013. By fostering youth activism and promoting Jewish practices, EnerJew is shaping future leaders and strengthening community structures. The movement operates in 73 branches across 10 countries, engaging thousands of Jewish teenagers, and has empowered over 14,000 graduates to reconnect with their Jewish roots.
