After extensive renovations, the central mikvah in Bryansk, Russia, was officially reopened in a moving ceremony attended by dozens of local community members. The restored facility is set to serve not only the Jewish population of Bryansk but also those in the surrounding region.

The festive inauguration was attended by many men and women from the community, including several rabbis from neighboring areas and honored guests. Among the key supporters of the renovation was Rabbi David Derli of Tiberias, Israel, who contributed significantly to the project.

The renovation, carried out with the encouragement and support of the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar, was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of community friends from around the world—most notably the 770 Foundation, under the leadership of Rabbi Yehuda Davidov.

Originally constructed 15 years ago, the mikvah underwent a complete reconstruction and modernization. The reopening was marked by a celebratory ribbon-cutting, with the main donors, including Rabbi Derli, given the honor of participating in the ceremony. Following the event, a festive meal was held, during which community leaders and supporters shared words of inspiration.

“This day is truly special for our entire community,” said Rabbi Menachem Zaklas, who leads the Jewish community in Bryansk. “With gratitude in our hearts, we celebrate the reopening of the mikvah—renewed, bright, and beautiful. May this sacred space bring purity, spiritual renewal, and blessings to every family.”
