Thousands of Jewish students and young professionals from across Russia and the FSU were surprised and excited by YAHAD’s recent announcement of an intriguing new destination for their annual trip. This trip, which has become a tradition, attracts hundreds of participants each year after they complete their attendance in a unique and stimulating Jewish studies program. The chosen destination for Winter 2025 is Shanghai, China.

“Our new campaign,” explains YAHAD Director, Rabbi Mendy Wilansky, “is now gaining momentum across the media. It is aimed at youth from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and other FSU countries, with the goal of deepening their connection to their heritage through a fascinating and meaningful series of weekly study sessions and gatherings. Upon completion, the students and young professionals will embark on an unforgettable trip that they will remember for a lifetime.”

The new destination was carefully selected, following previous trips to countries in Western and Eastern Europe, Israel, and even Thailand. “China is a surprising choice for everyone,” Rabbi Mendy adds. “Many view this oriental destination as something beyond their reach, something they can’t even imagine. Now, their dream will become a reality, and we expect to see a high level of registration in the coming days.”

The YAHAD initiative, operating under the framework of the Federation of Jewish Communities (FJC), is intended for Jewish youth and young professionals, both men and women, between the ages of 18-28. It is designed to enrich and empower the participants’ values, ideals, and self-motivation. Those who attend a set number of sessions are invited to participate in the highly sought-after annual trip.
