The Jewish youth of Donetsk and Mariupol, two of the main cities in the heart of the East Ukrainian conflict, enjoyed last week a special and professional Shabbaton Seminar in the capital city of Kiev in honor of the upcoming festival of lights.
The seminar, organized by the new and innovative ‘EnerJew’ youth movement, already active in 10 different locations throughout the FSU, was attended by over thirty Jewish teenagers. The event combined fascinating lecturers on various Jewish topics, mentoring from the movement’s professional staff and a relaxing environment away from the participants’ war stricken homes.
During the seminar, the youngsters created programs and plans for their EnerJew clubs for the upcoming new calendar year, with the guidance of their coordinators and mentors. Â
