Summer Camp 2025 Season Opens Across Jewish FSU

This summer, the Federation of Jewish Communities (FJC) has once again launched its beloved ‘Gan Israel’ JSummer Day Camp network, welcoming thousands of children from 58 cities across the former Soviet Union. More than a seasonal activity, the camp offers a joyful and meaningful experience that immerses participants in Jewish heritage, values, and community life. In addition, a network of Sleepover camps will operate in dozens of regions attracting older children and teenagers.

For the 2025 season, organizers selected a unique and thought-provoking theme: the world of numbers in Jewish culture. Each camp day is centered around a different number, revealing layers of spiritual symbolism and Jewish tradition. Through an engaging mix of stories, games, challenges, discussions, and creative activities, children work together to uncover and “restore” a symbolic number to its place in the tapestry of Jewish thought.

Along the way, participants delve into core values such as Ahavat Yisrael (love of one’s fellow Jew), the Jewish calendar, and meaningful traditions like celebrating a birthday through a Jewish lens. Every element is tailored to be age-appropriate, exciting, and deeply educational.

Camp sessions began on May 26 and will continue in different locations throughout the summer, extending into September. With the involvement of hundreds of dedicated educators, madrichim, and volunteers, this year’s JSummer program is expected to unite dozens of Jewish communities and create lasting memories for thousands of children.

Each young participant returns home with more than just souvenirs — they carry with them a spark of joy, warmth, and Jewish pride that helps strengthen identity and connection all year round.
