Thirty-three coordinators and staff members of the international educational JFuture program in Ukraine, recently participated in a four-day empowering seminar in the resort town of Slavske in western Ukraine, far from ongoing tensions and crisis-related stress. The participants benefited from numerous lectures and enriching experiences, receiving additional tools to manage the informal educational initiative for Jewish children that operates in dozens of branches throughout the country every Sunday.
JFuture is an international educational project, established and operated by the Federation of Jewish Communities and JRNU, that combines modern technologies with Jewish traditions to foster the harmonious development of children aged 5 to 12. At JFuture centers, children are immersed in a fascinating world of science, creativity, and culture, where each lesson becomes a step toward their personal and intellectual growth.
“Our mission is to help children develop their potential, strengthen their connection with their Jewish heritage, and create a foundation for a successful future,” explains Rabbi Shlomo Neeman, FJC Educational Director.
“The location was chosen far from the daily hustle and constant tensions,” he shares. “Our coordinators are skilled and experienced in imparting Jewish values alongside excellence. Our goal was not only to provide them with additional educational tools and approaches but also to empower them to cope with the situation and reflect calm, serenity, hope, and optimism to their students and parents.”
Thousands of Jewish children, most of whom are not enrolled in formal Jewish educational systems, participate and learn in this special program that operates a series of fascinating educational projects. These initiatives impart Jewish values, encourage the development of talents and interests, and promote educational excellence through hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through these activities, children develop creative and logical thinking while experimenting with modern technologies.
The JFuture program also reaches out to parents through activities that help them actively participate in their children’s lives. The organization conducts practical workshops and organizes events that strengthen family bonds and create a warm atmosphere for communication.
