Tyumen inaugurates two New Torah Scrolls

Hundreds of community members and guests participated last week in the festive inauguration of two new Torah scrolls that were donated primarily by the Clipper and Miller families and were introduced to the Grand Synagogue of the Jewish community of Tyumen, Russia.

The last letters of the new Torah scroll were written in a special ceremony by the distinguished donors, guests and community members, which began with a special performance and continued with a colorful parade that made its way through the city’s streets back to the Synagogue.

After arriving at the hall, dancing and singing were held in honor of the new Torah scroll, and the event concluded with a festive meal that continued for many hours.
